It’s really hard to believe that half the year is gone. In true Minnesota fashion, the winter lasted far longer than any of us cared for, spring lasted all of two weeks when it finally did arrive, and now we’re in the HOT days of summer. Rather than complain, I look at it as all the more reason to get to the lake and get in as much baseball and golf in as I can. I managed to get to all of my godson’s playoff games and hope to catch a couple of his tournaments over the summer as well as throw in a game or two of my beloved Twins. How’s everyone’s summer going so far?
When I’m not working at one of my many jobs, I’m outside with the pups. We’ve gotten a lot of miles in this summer and plan to take on plenty more before the snow flies. How are my little freeloaders you ask? There’s never a dull moment at our house with those two pups, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Max has slowly begun to accept that Maverick is here to stay. I’m still not sure how he truly feels about him, but he’s an amazing big brother - just like Marley was to him. Max lets Maverick treat him like his own personal jungle gym and has the patience of a saint with him. Mav loves to crawl over Max when he’s trying to rest, provoke him to chase him all over the house and yard, and play tug with their endless amounts of toys.
What I’ve enjoyed doing the most this summer is getting everything ready for the release of Taming J. It’s been fun to sift through chapters to pull lines for teasers as well as sharing a lot of the swag I created for its release. If you’re in my reading group, you’ve gotten a sneak peek at what some of those items are and it’s my intention to keep doing giveaways leading up to the release on August 29th.

I’m tentatively planning on attending the Graceland signing. I’m still in the early stages with some of my part-time work and I want to see how it all settles before I make a solid decision on that front. When you juggle as many positions as me, it takes a beat or two for everything to solidify. I’m a planner so having some things schedule wise still remain up in the air drives me nuts, but it is what it is. Hopefully by next month I’ll have a better idea of how my weeks will shape up with the part-time work and what that means for my overall schedule and availability this fall and winter.
After a very long wait, Complicated is now available on audio. You can get your copy here → https://amzn.to/3NlqY2K
I’m in the process of putting together a good marketing plan for Conflicted and Complicated so that I can give both of them a solid push in the near future, but my primary focus will remain on pushing Taming J. You’re likely to see more marketing on the audiobook front after the release.

The narration of each book is certainly worth hearing so I encourage readers to pick up the audio version of Conflicted and Complicated. Both narrators truly captured the core of Mia’s character and the journey she goes on in the first two books. I wasn’t thrilled to end up with two different narrators, but it worked out in the end when it comes to hitting the very different emotions Mia goes through between Conflicted and Complicated.
I’m sure everyone is wondering what the heck happened with the audiobooks since I expected to have all of them completed by now. All I can say is I’m sorry! I did everything in my power to try to make that happen, but that is just not how the chips fell in the end. Without going into too much detail when it comes to the audiobooks, the first two narrators I have worked with took advantage of my patience and kindness. Due to the difficulties I dealt with trying to get Conflicted and Complicated completed, I am choosing to take a break from narrators altogether, if only for my own peace of mind.
Hitting the pause button on all things audio is probably for the best anyway because Concealed, Fighting for Someday, Waiting for Someday, Finding Our Someday, and Taming J are all from a dual POV and I’d like the narration to read as such. The right people and timing will need to present themselves for me to even be open to listening to any more auditions. In my heart of hearts, I know that time is not now for me. Jackson and Jenn have waited a long time for their story to be out in the world so my focus will remain on them for the foreseeable future and finishing Saving Us.
Can you believe Taming J will be released in a month and a half!?! As the date grows closer, I’m getting more excited for it to finally be out in the world. It was a labor of love to write their story, but I’m so glad that I did it in the end. It’s probably my favorite love story to date. As much as I love Mia and Ethan’s journey to their happily ever after as well as Bri and Trey’s epic love story, Jackson and Jenn’s adventure is one that I’m particularly exhilarated to share. It’s got a little bit of everything in it that I hope readers love!

I mentioned this last month, but I’m going to reiterate it each month so no one says they weren’t warned before they finished Taming J. I cannot guarantee that Saving Us will be released this year, but it was important to me to finally get Taming J out in the world. As I’ve gone back and picked lines for teasers, it’s reminded me how much of an emotional roller coaster life has been since I began thinking of what Jackson’s story would shape up to be and how it would find its place in the rest of the worlds I created between the Secrets and Lies series and Someday series.
I don’t want to give anything away on how it all weaves together, but I cannot stress enough that you will want to read the Secrets and Lies series before picking up Taming J. That series literally ties into several key parts of Taming J. If you want to have the full reader experience and really know what I mean, I’d pick up the Someday series as well. As many people learned in Concealed, I drop a lot of hints throughout my books on the direction of things to come for these characters. Certain things unfolded in both series that shaped the course of the plot of Taming J.
The big parts of Saving Us are plotted and the fate has been sealed for all of these characters. I’ve structured this final book differently than my previous seven, but I think my loyal readers will appreciate how I’ve decided to tell it. All I’ll say is that plenty of tears will be shed after I finish it, but my heart will be full when I bid them all their final farewell.
I will likely make Conflicted FREE toward the end of July. Conflicted, Complicated, and Concealed are all 0.99 cents at the moment. Complicated was released 9 years ago on July 22nd and is still my favorite book to date as far as writing goes. If I had to pick one book that speaks to how I like writing a book and the kind of author I am at my core, that is the book that stands out the most. It’s twisty, angsty, steamy, and funny all rolled into one.
Thank you for taking the time to read and your continued support!!!
